S is for STRAWBERRIES!!

To my intense delight, strawberries are currently in great abundance and incredibly cheap, and I have been buying them by the crate full! Gabe loves them.

He has started saying "Mmmmmm" very loudly whenever he puts anything tasty in his mouth. Here is a video of him really enjoying his strawberries, and then just for kicks him mooing like a cow. Warning: you may have to be related to appreciate this.

Apart from plain, fresh strawberries, strawberries with sugar, strawberry smoothies, and strawberry shortcake, I've also make strawberry pie, and cupcakes with strawberry filling and strawberry frosting. I have to tell you, the strawberry frosting was so incredibly good I can't stop thinking about it and may have to make more.

While I have been basking in strawberries, the Purple Pie Man has been playing tennis. Lots of it lately.
And Huckelberry Pie has been making friends with the rich and famous. He met Barney recently at a birthday party and didn't have any problems going right up and smacking him on his over-sized head. He danced it up with Barney later, so it appears Barney appreciated the get-to-know-you gesture.
The birthday party also sported a big inflatable bouncy house, which I had to help him in. Seriously, I love those things and was only too happy to get in it with him. Maybe I'll rent one for my next birthday.

Gabe's View

Hi. This is Gabe. I'm guest authoring because my mom doesn't seem to get around to posting. So I've taken it upon myself to let you all know what's been going on.

First, on the 8th day of the 8th Month of the year '08, my dad turned 33. My parents had a big party and invited lots of friends over for a chocolate fountain. My mom even made homemade marshmallows and cream puffs to dip.
While those things are nice, to me the don't hold a candle to fresh strawberries. I discovered a new trick while she was preparing 7 pounds of fresh strawberries. While she is in the kitchen working, I can go hang on her legs and whine. She will then give me a strawberry, and I will go away, which is what she wants. But I only go away for the length of time it takes me to masticulate the strawberry. Then I am back, with the same trick. The amazing thing is, she keeps giving them to me. I think she feels like at least she is getting something done. I just know I am getting more and more strawberries, which I love. I will use this trick every time she buys strawberries, and consume approximately 20% of the fruit she buys, so she better plan accordingly in the future!

Because I am very tricky, I mange to not be in bed before the party starts, like I am supposed to be. But at least I got to see my friends Mora and Sophia, and give them lots of kisses. These days I really like to kiss girls. Just girls, not boys. But I like to give kisses to all the girls in the nursery at church on Sunday, and even random girls I see at the park. Don't worry, my mouth is open when I kiss but it's just on the cheek. Please notice my red cheeks in the photo below. My dad thinks I had a reaction to all the strawberries I ate. The next day, my dad had to go to a special continuing education seminar for work, so my mom and I cleaned the house all morning. That much chocolate is a BIG PAIN to clean up. After we were done she took me to the park for a break. My favorite part of the park is climbing on the slide. It's hard to climb, but I really like to climb things and there is nothing else to climb at this park.
When we're not partying it up, my mom and I go to the Music/English class my mom teaches at the church for me and the other kids. It's just like a regular music class, but we sing in English and my mom calls it an English class so no one will criticize her music abilities.
My mom made animal hand puppets to sing "Old McDonald" and little star wands to sing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and we have pompoms to sing about the colors. I mostly walk around waving my props while the others try to sing, but I like to see my friends!
Thanks for reading my post, and I will try to get my mom to post more often. But don't hold your breath!

Childproofing Everything is NOT Possible!

Gabe, yesterday, innocently hanging out on the second rung of the door pondering the cars cruising by on the street.
Where Gabe was today when I discovered him. Mario made me wait to grab him while he took pictures and saw what would happen...
I stand by anxiously as Gabe goes up...
and up...
and up...
and up...
until there is no where else to go. No more leaving the door open for a little fresh air!

Do I have a child or a monkey??
